Today I couldn’t reproduce this, not with asio nor with directsound drivers. A bit frustrating, because it happened 4 times in a row the days before.
Ah well, it’s not lethal, windows will prompt to kill the process if needed.
edit: it seems that if I use podium for a longer amount of time this bug happens.
