ExperimenterParticipantI just got Podium Free the day before yesterday, and I’ve been following this tutorial series. I’ve run into a few problems in the process, and having spent about 5 hours trying to work them out for myself I decided I needed the help of people who actually know the software.
The biggest (really the only) problem is that there are certain commonly used plugins, (namely DrumCore Free) which Podium should recognize the .dll file for and it’s not. Podium completely ignores the file, even if I place it in a parallel folder to the “Zynewave effects” folder. When I try to manually load it, I get “Could not open plugin Drum Core 3.dll”. I’ve tried several other third party plugins, but they also failed. As yet, the only ones that work have been the ones listed on the “recommended freeware” page.
I’ve tried everything, my file paths should be correct, and I can’t find anything in the settings. I need drums to make even a basic track, so I’d like to get this resolved.
Thanks in advance, Experimenter.

MLSParticipantI assume you are using the 64-bit version of Podium. To use the 32-bit plugins with Podium 64-bit you need jBridge (not free):
https://jstuff.wordpress.com/jbridge/You can try to use the 32-bit version of Podium. It should recognize and load all the plugins without problems. I also use DrumCore free with Podium 32-bit, so why it should not work with yours? 😉
If you don’t need a lot of computing power (tons of tracks with instruments, effects, etc …), you can use the 32-bit version.
On this topic (32 vs 64-bit for music production) you can read this article:

ExperimenterParticipantThanks, I’ll give that a shot. Being completely new to this, is there any way to tell if a plugin is 32-bit Vs. 64-bit just by looking at it? I didn’t see anything on the download pages specifying, so I assumed they were cross-compatible or something.

ExperimenterParticipantFingers crossed, but the 32-bit Podium Free seems to be working. Is there anything I can’t do with the 32-bit that I can do with the 64-bit? (Well, anything I should know about.)

romancandleParticipantAll you need to know is on the Sound On Sound page that MLS linked.
You can’t access more than 4GB RAM with 32-bit.
AFAIK, that is the only difference between 32-bit and 64-bit DAW.
