ZynewaveKeymaster- This release introduces a beta version of the zReverb plugin. The reverb allows individual placement of two mono input sources and a stereo microphone within a room enclosure. Room dimensions, wall reflections and damping can be adjusted. The reverb is based on a combination of early reflections and late diffusion modules. A threshold parameter defines the balance between reflections and diffusion, which also acts as a CPU usage control. zReverb is initially available only for Podium license owners. Parameter editing is disabled when the plugin is used in other hosts.
- The zReverb editor is integrated in Podium in a similar style as the previously released zPEQ plugin. Enable popup help to view instructions for the zReverb parameters and the room display.
- zReverb may change in a future release depending on the response to this beta version. The beta version only contains a few basic presets in the default bank. The sound of the diffusion module may also be refined.

ZynewaveKeymasterHmm, good thing I called it a beta release of zReverb. I just made the plugin crash when trying it out on my low-end internet PC. 🙁
Use it at your own risk! I’ll start hunting for the crash bug.

ZynewaveKeymasterCrash-bug fixed. It was caused by odd-sized ASIO buffers. A zip file with the updated zReverb plugin can be downloaded from the VIP lounge.

acousmodParticipantHi,
At first glance, it sounds nice.
I have tried a little with very different sources and the results are consistant. The automation of the sources and mic positions gives very interesting results !
An option for two distinct microphones instead of a XY couple will be also usefull.I have just tried also to run it in EnergyXT without the gui : the presets are well recalled but the sliders don’t make any change in the sound and the values are fixed.
Great job…

ZynewaveKeymasterThanks for testing it acousmod.

The focus with zReverb was to create a flexible reverb with as few parameters as possible. There are many internal parameters that could be exposed in the UI, so perhaps later on I will create an advanced reverb plugin with more options. Speaking for myself I am often discouraged from making my own presets in synths and effects if I’m presented with a huge number of options and parameters. With a small set of parameters like in zReverb, perhaps people will be more inclined to design their own rooms.

acousmodParticipantNo problem, the same for me, it was just some remark after a first try.
Most of the great reverbs have far less parameters than the zReverb since the modelisation room is in general hidden, and the automation of parameters is also often less clean with more CPU usage !
Very impressive.I will be very happy when there will be a multichannel version 😛 in a late future. A little revolution…

francoisParticipantSeems to be nice , but i had a crash after few minutes telling me that it may have corrupted my project file…As i was working on some project i did not go further. 🙁

ZynewaveKeymasterbut i had a crash after few minutes telling me that it may have corrupted my project file
Are you using the updated plugin dll file? What ASIO buffer size are you using?
As i was working on some project i did not go further
The risk that a plugin may actually have corrupted the project is very little. Next time it happens, save your project to a new file, keep the old project file as backup, restart Podium and check that the project is intact and plays like previously.

If you’re looking for the ‘new’ button in the preset panel, then it was removed when the new preset system was implemented. You can still create new program library presets with Ctrl+P, and if you right click the preset panel header you have the menus for creating both program and bank library presets.
