ZynewaveKeymaster- The bounce waveform on hidden bounce tracks will be drawn on top of the events on the track lane.
- Bounce sounds on hidden bounce track lanes will automatically resize to fit the entire length of the arrangement.
- The gain control on bounce tracks are applied after the bounce recording. This makes it possible to adjust the gain of bounced tracks. You’ll need to redo the bounce rendering in your older projects to make the levels match.
- The “B” bounce button is shown on the track headers and mixer strips, if there is any bounce enabled track in the effect chain.
- The old “insert bounce track” menu command has been replaced with a “Bounce” submenu. All effect tracks in the chain are listed in the menu, making it possible to select at which point in the chain the bounce should be executed.
- The Bounce track menu has a “Bounce Mode” submenu with options for selecting offline rendering or realtime recording mode.
- Tracks set to realtime recording bounce mode now have a dedicated “activate realtime record” option in the Bounce submenu. This replaces the previous realtime record method of activating both the bounce and record button. The bounce button is painted red when recording mode is activated.
- Added “hide bounce track lane” and “unload plugins when activated” options to the “Bounce” submenu.
- Changed the key shortcuts for switching bounce playback and rendering. Pressing the “B” button or the B shortcut key will now perform a render, effectively acting as a freeze button. Holding Ctrl while pressing B will switch playback of previously rendered audio.
- If bounce is not enabled on the focus track, then pressing the B shortcut key will enable offline bounce mode and render the track.
- Starting a bounce render will automatically create a new sound event on the bounce track if the previous event has been deleted or moved to another track.
- Sound events created on bounce tracks are named “Bounce” plus the track name.
- Added “deactivate all bounce tracks” and “render all inactive bounce tracks” commands to the arrangement editor file menu.
- Added a new “Effect Track Properties” dialog, which is similar to the old “Track Properties” dialog. Settings that are relevant only for effect tracks have thus been removed from the “Track Properties” dialog.
- The solo, mute and group collapse track options are now only available for the bottom source track in a chain. A muted track will automatically mute all effect tracks in the chain.
- Extended the “control type” combobox in tracks region properties with a choice for hiding all controls on the headers.
- The controls on the track panel in the inspector will use the control style selected in the inspector view menu.
- New curve sequences now by default have a point event at the start of the sequence. If it controls a VST parameter then the value of the point is set to the current parameter value in the plugin.
- Recording parameter automation will create curve sequence events starting at the beginning of the arrangement instead of at the current play position.
- MIDI SysEx and parameter events recorded from external devices will now be placed on parameter tracks instead of standard child tracks.
- Added “Select all missing plugins” command to the Devices menu.
- Fix: Starting playback shortly before the loop end position would sometimes continue playback beyond the loop range.

sam cParticipanthi frits.
looks like a bunch of work for you to finish this……congrats.
from someone who did not follow the betas but just downloaded the update tonight i wanted to tell you two initial things-
it is a little difficult to figure out the bounce off line, real time, hide lane, etc. it just is not intuitive.
also, i have never been able to render or off line bounce amplitube. but a new difference is the cpu load. in 2.05 and prior amplitube is a 22% hit on the podium mix cpu meter. on 2.06 it is 47%. i have double checked these numbers.
i will keep working with the update to see if i can get a handle on it. hopefully the cpu hit you can check out?
thanks

What do you suggest needs to be changed?

I don’t have Amplitube installed. Is it just with this plugin that you see a difference in CPU usage?

sam cParticipantfrits, let me spend more time today. i am just speaking to a first impression. another software i use simply has render under the file menu, when you select render you have the options of stereo, mono, customize render length, render to new track. it seems simple but maybe it is because i have used it extensively. i think my concern is too many clicks and options. but, i will do a whole tune today and see if it is just me.
i will also check other plugs. last night i just recorded a few guitar tracks, some with some without amplitube, and bounced live and off line to get a feel for what you have done.

sam cParticipantfrits, i spent about 4 hours recording in 2.06.
1st, amplitube was not at 47% but still around 22% with some spikes to 30 % cpu hit. becasue amplitube does not get along with podium it is very difficult because it will close constantly. it does not shut podium down but it closes the plug and sometimes the bounce track.
all other plugs i tested were the same as in 2.05.
i still struggled a little with the bounce tracks….i was however just learning on my own, no release notes or manual instructions (if there is). i don’t think i can offer any suggestions yet but i will spend this whole week working with podium and check back with you then.
i think it is a really good release in it’s progress!

sam cParticipantforgot to mention that guitar rig 2 was much easier to work with in the new environment….it allows podium to offline bounce.
how do i set my offline bounce to mono prior to the bounce?

swindusParticipantNice update, thanks!

Malcolm JacobsonParticipantHi Frits,
Just tried the new Bounce options in this release. What a great improvement! This makes the Bounce feature much easier to use and really flexible. Thanks for the great update! π
Cheers,
Malcolm.

You can unhide the bounce track lane, and then open the properties dialog for the bounce sound.
Note that if you change the bounce sound to mono, Podium will not bounce-record any panning you’ve applied in the chain below the bounce track.

sam cParticipantthanks frits.
i think the update is pretty cool. i have spent quite a bit of time with it this whole week. i am a hobbyist so i might come from a slightly different perspective but if i could change anything in your fine program it would be a way to lessen steps to accomplish tasks. might be easier said than done but i really miss hitting S to split a highlighted track or clicking anywhere in the timeline to move the cursor and dragging the cursor with the mouse( i know you are changing this), as a few examples of simple.
i am not sure how, when programs get more sophisticated, this might be possible but if i could click on a task and have all of my options right there, no additional clicks, or menus, or views….. my simple mind is happier!
i did enjoy learning the new features of 2.06.
