maximiliansParticipantHello fairly I’m fairly new to podium but I have a request/suggestion. It would be really nice to have the options for alternate mouse click setups . A couple changes would make things more efficient for me like instead of having to double click to erase when in pencil mode is to just single click erase .
another option in pencil mode would be that if right click drag would be selection mode.
I’m sure both of these points have been made before but i think its important to have the options that make sense for the individual user since we have all had different software experience and have become accustomed to certain ways of working.April 9, 2009 at 19:45 #14899

LiquidProj3ctParticipantThe piano roll in Podium is almost perfect. However tons of times I have problems with it: I don’t like swich between tools, I do everything with Pencil tool.
With Pencil tool [+Ctrl/Alt/shift] you can do the most of the actions that you usually need, except one: unselect notes.
Aditionaly I think that tons of user would find more useful delete notes with right click, instead double click.
Then my suggestion is:
Please Frits, allow customization of right click in piano roll / drum editor, where two options would be:
– Tools popup (for people that like the traditional menu, as Conquistador)
– Unselect and delete event (this would be ideal for avoid tools swiches)
– Extra action 1
– Extra action 2
– Extra action NWith Unselect & delete event option you could:
– Avoid tool swiching
– Hide tools icons
– Unselect a group of notes right clicking in a emply space
– Less menus in Podium 🙂
– Add notes with left click, delete notes with right click, what could be more inmediate and simple?I think that a superfast workflow is ideal for those people that do music instead collect a bunch of features/exotic functions

LiquidProj3ctParticipantBump again, please Frits consider add the option of delete and unselect notes with right click, it’s pretty uncomfortable have to switch tools [-o<

Just please not the default option 😕
The biggest thing I hate about FLStudio is the right-click delete. So many times I find myself deleting things when I want/expect a context-menu.
I like Sonar’s fully configurable option. where you can even customise what a different click in a certain ‘zone’ of the note will do. In this way, I can have my default setup completely different from somebody elses.
(Personally, I would like single-click ‘hear’. double-click add, drag from start/end to resize, shift-drag for velocity and alt-click for delete)

druidParticipantI know there are plenty of people who don’t like to use the keyboard, but I just press the delete button on my keyboard. :-s

LiquidProj3ctParticipantit isn’t only about delete, unselect note with pencil tool is critical! (because you cannot do it in any way)

druidParticipantHey yeah, I just realised I double-click to create note with the select tool, but I’m not sure I like that method. I like the select tool, but I’d like a shortcut to create a note, like holding down alt and clicking on emptiness, or something.

LiquidProj3ctParticipantI rebump this thread. I’m having a hard time with pencil tool and Podium’s piano roll. When I select some notes they aren’t unselected when I select another group of notes, and the right click is unuseful for me.
There isn’t relative snap either, so I lose all the groove if I move notes.
