    Hi,

I’m using Vaz Mod 3 as a VSTi in Podium but I’m having trouble working out how to automate it. For example, I’ve mapped a filter cutoff slider in Vaz to CC#70, created a parameter object in Podium and made a nice param curve. Now, when I look at the parameter properties dialog I select ‘plugin parameter’ from the drop-down list but I’m not sure where to go from here. I’ve tried various options in the parameter properties to no effect so far. Any help appreciated 🙂

I have not tried the Vaz Mod plugin, but maybe I can help.

Since you are trying to create parameter objects manually, I assume that importing the Vaz did not automatically create a bunch of VST parameters? Maybe it’s because the Vaz does not support this, and relies on MIDI control.

Importing the plugin should at least have created the Pitch bend, modulation and channel pressure MIDI parameters (unless the plugin claims it is not a synth). If you have linked CC#70 inside Vaz, you should create a corresponding MIDI parameter in Podium. Don’t select the ‘plugin parameter’ type in the parameters dialog, but rather ‘control change’ and then enter the control change number. Look at the ‘Modulation’ parameter for clues.

The nature of Vaz Mod means that there’s no fixed signal path and the user adds and links the modules, so I guess it makes sense that no parameter information would be sent.
Anyway, I followed your advice and set the parameter properties to ‘midi control change’, CC# to 70 – Actually I tried this before – where I went wrong was forgetting to set the maximum range to 127 – But it works now 🙂

    Thanks Frits.
