mr_es335ParticipantHello,
I have configured a patch listing for a Roland XV-5080 external sound/sampler module and all works as it should.
However, I am now endeavoring to access the various Banks for the XV-5080. In Cubase SX I would simply insert a SysEx command into a dedicated MIDI track to access that particular bank. Can this be done and if so how can this be done in Podium?
The commands are as follows:
Performance
R0 41 10 00 10 12 00 00 00 00 00 00 F7GM2
R0 41 10 00 10 12 00 00 00 00 037 F7Patch/Rhythm
R0 41 10 00 10 12 00 00 00 00 01 7F F7Performance and GM2 are the one that I use the most.
Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

ZynewaveKeymasterYou need to create a SysEx parameter object for this:
Open the inspector parameter panel on a track where you have assigned a XV-5080 device mapping. Click the parameter panel menu button and select one of the default MIDI parameters from the “New MIDI Parameter” submenu. Now locate the new parameter object in the list below, right-click and select Properties. Modify the parameter name to “GM2”, select “MIDI System Exclusive” parameter type, set “range to” to 0, disable the “record as curve…” option, enter the “F0 41 10 00 10 12 00 00 00 00 00 00 F7” text (without quotes) in the “system exclusive message” text field. Press OK. Repeat for the other two messages.
Now you can drag this parameter from the parameter list onto the track timeline, where you want to switch to GM2 mode.

mr_es335ParticipantFrits,
Thank you for your prompt reply!
After a bit of head scratching, I was able to get it to work.
As you can see I am still getting my head around the way in which Podium works! When you do though, it does seem to be more intuitive.
Thank you again, Frits!! Very much appreicated!

ZynewaveKeymasterWell, your request made me realize this was not as easy as it could be. I’ve now added a “SysEx…” command to the “New MIDI Parameter” submenu. So my reply modified for Podium 2.14 and forward is:
You need to create a SysEx parameter object for this:
Open the inspector parameter panel on a track where you have assigned a XV-5080 device mapping. Click the parameter panel menu button and select the “SysEx…” command from the “New MIDI Parameter” submenu. In the parameter properties dialog that opens, modify the parameter name to “GM2” and enter the “F0 41 10 00 10 12 00 00 00 00 00 00 F7” text (without quotes) in the “system exclusive message” text field. Press OK. Repeat for the other two messages.
Now you can drag this parameter from the parameter list onto the track timeline, where you want to switch to GM2 mode.
