While we who desire to use an external editor at times are awaiting and hoping for a new menu item to appear in Podium someday soon that says, Go to External Editor, I wanted to mention that Wavosaur has just been updated to version 1.0.8.0. There are a few minor improvements and one stability issue fixed.

Right then — so tell me, which of the two, Wavosaur or Audacity do you use, which of the two do you like best?

I have both and have never been able to decide completely. I think Audacity. It has a few more features, but Wavosaur seems to be catching up fast! How about you? Which would you assign as an external editor in Podium, if you could only choose one?

Personally, I use IL’s Edison but among those two I would use Audacity as it is what used to use a long time ago.
I had stability issues with Wavosaur when I tried it, but it was so loooong ago that I don’t think it is the case anymore.

I ditched Audacity because of the lack of real time processing. On the other hand Wavosaur used to be buggy with vst plugins sometimes. Don’t know if it’s been solved. I wanted to give this one a shot, but it instantly became buggy with dx plugs it automatically scanned so I didn’t insist.

So, if anyone was luckier with it, please report (maybe it was my old pc).

To answer your question – Wavosaur

I prefer Wavosaur. I tried ocenaudio for a bit. It looks promising but is quite basic at the moment, plus the vst scan always crashed for me.

I use both Acoustica and Wavosaur. I like Acoustica visually, but I do prefer Wavosaur. Both work with no issues. Wavosaur is pretty stable, never had a crash with it. I like it more because it really provides acurate information on the wave and the editing is a breeze.

    Hi all,

For those who use wavosaur: since december 2012, it’s avaliable the lastest version 1.0.8.0
    Here the link: http://www.wavosaur.com/download.php

I have used both editors. More wavosaur, though.

    Cheers.
