I’m trying to get Chord Space Playa:
to work with a vsti in Podium. So far I’ve tried it with Lounge Lizard, Albino 3, and Spectra.
I load a vsti into a track and it works fine. I then wrap the vsti track in a group track. Then I put Chord Space on the Group Track.
But nothing happens-not even an error message.
Any ideas?
I’m not to familiar with chordspace playa but I think you need to put playa in the 1st track, than wrap a group track around and install your vsti. I’ll give it a try tonight if you want.
Or you could use a suntrack under the vsti and put playa on the subtrack.
Chordspace is a MIDI VSTi? This is not supported in Podium yet. If it were (or rather when), then you would set it up as Darcy suggested.

Yes, it is a vsti.

Hmm…I thought that you would set it up same as a vst effect like reverb for that track. In that case, the vsti has a group track over it and the group track has the reverb.
Chord Space has to come before in the chain so that it sends the chord or arpeggio to the vsti.
BTW-what’s a suntrack? Did you mean sub track? ๐
I’ll try your sub-track suggestion, but isn’t the subtrack ‘subordinate’ to the vsti? Because with Chord Space, the vsti has to be subordinate to Chord Space.

Ok, I tried the above, but get no sound, and I get the dreaded yellow message that a preset needs to be assigned from the chord space track, which seems impossible.
If you wouldn’t mind giving it a try, I’d sure appreciate it.
Thanks Darcy.

Yes, it is a vsti.
What I meant with MIDI VSTi was that the plugin generates MIDI output instead of audio, and relies on another VSTi to produce the sound, correct?
That is not supported in Podium yet. MIDI output of a plugin cannot be streamed into other plugins. One of the major features that is still lacking in Podium.

Nope-that doesn’t work either. Nothing happens-no sound, no error messages-nothing.

Given this, is this something we could do with Energy XT?
Or… how about using something like minihost or vsthost to contain Chordspace then routing the midi-out from there to a midi-in in Podium?

Both solutions would work I think. The easiest would be to use eXT and connect chordspace and your chosen VSTi inside an eXT instance.

Nope, sorry-I tried that as well! ๐
Doesn’t work with ext either. BTW- I can get chord space to work in the stand alone version of eXT. Chord Space also works fine in Cubase SX 2.2.

Have you loaded the VSTi version of eXT? I assume you have assigned a MIDI input mapping to the Podium eXT track. Is there an indicator in eXT or Chordspace that shows MIDI is being received? Could be a MIDI channel issue perhaps.

WTF? My mistake, it works in the new project below.
I just started a new project and loaded eXT with Chord Space, this time it DOES work. But that’s the only way. ๐

Yes to all questions

So it doesn’t work if you try to set an identical arrangement up in your old project? Perhaps the eXT mappings in your old project are different than those imported in your new project. Check that the device mapping properties points to the proper eXT file.
Btw. I’m glad I started on the new project start page. This whole device setup will become easier to administrate.
