Topic: Circular and linear knob movments: ETA ?

    Hey there. After trying out the Podium CM edition, I bought my copy today.

    I understand Circular/linear stuff is on the todo list, just wondering if there is an ETA on this one?

    I’m waiting for this prefference of default handling also. I hate circular and I have some plug-ins that are stuck in that mode in Podium.

    Tell me about it 😆 For me Circular just isn’t as precise as linear.

    You were lucky your request came just before I wrapped up the 1.82 release. This has been requested before, so I figured I might as well get it done. It was a simple job.

    OOoohhhhhhh, mouse wheel zoom?!?!?! That’s something that I was waiting for, and I didn’t even ask for it! I think that will make navigation that much easier. Thank you very much!!!!

    Mouse-wheel zoom was possible before, but it requires that you press the shift+ctrl+alt key combinations to select the various zoom tools. This method works wherever the mouse is in the editor. Now you have the option of moving the mouse over the timeline to zoom without having to hold the zoom tool keys.

    Ok, so color me stupid, but what exactly ARE circular and linear knob movements? I’ve never really paid attention in any of the hosts I’ve used.

    what exactly ARE circular and linear knob movements?

    The VST spec allows a host to set the default knob mouse drag mode in plugins. Circular means you drag with the mouse in a circle around the knob. Linear means you drag up/down to change the knob value. Not all plugins support changing knob mode.
