    Hi All,

    OK finally reemerged from a busy period (working away lots and also was had a couple of big church services to plan in evenings etc…)
    Anyway now have done some organ and piano parts, tried a few different ideas and have uploaded entire podium project incl. midi and bounced audio so anyone else can have “Full control” over my ideas.

    Have used MrRay22 for elec piano (http://www.soundfonts.it/?a=read&b=16)
    Have used GTG micro Organ Mk II for organ sounds (http://gtgsynths.com/plugins.htm)

    Sorry for taking such a long time getting down to this.

    Mike G thanks for the keyboard work! I am editing a bit, re-doing the rhyhtm guitar, adding a final vox, a little guitar solo, and then I will upload…………hopefully this week.

    UA, I am using your Bass 1.

    Excellent sam, can’t wait.
    If you’d like me to re do anything or if you have any suggestions for some alternative sounds/tunes then just let me know.
    Will you upload the podium project so we can all have a play at mixing it? I’d love to see what different effects and eq etc. people add to the track, it’s an area in which I don’t feel I really know what I’m doing yet.
    (I know blues is very raw and unprocessed but still…)

    More specific comments/questions about the drums…
    Whenever I’ve tried to do my own laid back drums they always sound so sloppy and a million miles away form yours.
    Do you just use the metronome and play along to it or is there some other technique? Do you do much editing after recording or do you use any quantise etc.
    BTW I did notice that the audio files didn’t seem to line up easily with the metronome, so in my project I did a bit of cliping and re-aligning.
    Also would it be possible to have the MIDI for the drums please (Totally selfishly I’d like to use it as a basis for some other blues tracks – if that’s OK by you that is)

    Mike, I will upload individual non processed files. Right now mine and UA’s bass is up. The drums, your keys. I will ad a new rhythm guitar, solo guitar, and vox.

    Then I will upload to one of my websites my final version. I can inlcude an email of fx details etc. if you like?

    On midi drums I use a mteronome, quantise if necessary, and that’s it. I am having trouble finding the midi file for that blues tune but I will try and if I cannot find I can re-do pretty easy……I think. Yes, you are welcome to the audio or midi file to do as you please. I can send a few others that I know I can find if you like?

    Also, for drums, I started with Acid files. Drums on Demand and Discrete Drums. On my audio website, http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?songs=315264&T=6329, Jam I Am and I Want You are these loops from the two companies I just mentioned. They come with a song set that has multiple verses, chorus, bridges, etc. They helped me do better when I bought BFD.

    Hi Sam,
    Am now uploading another part, this time piano (no midi I’m afraid) it comes st out of my Yamaha Digital piano.
    This is mostly intended to replace the ePiano part (especially starting bit) that I wasn’t that keen on.
    It’s a bit sloppy but I guess it’ll do for a blues tune!
    I added this with low frequency cut and reverb as in previous uploaded proj for organ and ePiano.

    As for the drums, any nice midi files you have would be very useful for me and thanks for mentioning those other companies I’ll take a look.

    Hi Mike.

    i am uploading the electric rhythm guitar, acoustic rhythm, and vox wav files. The vox have only one chorus recorded so you will need to cut and paste the first to the second chorus. FWIW I will double track the vox and move one forward 200 mls, or so.

    no fx on anything.

    i will upload the remaining files, guitar solo and a few guitar fills by Fri.

    hopefully my final mix will be up this weekend.

    oh yeah, i am using UA’s Bass 1 that i converted to a wav file.

    Hey guys, even though I can’t play along at the moment I am still looking in on this. I look forward to hearing those files Sam. And I downed Mike’s arrangement over the weekend as well.

    Oh, and not that it makes a difference now but I think in the future we should really consider exchanging mp3’s or ogg files. At least until we get to where we have finished tracks. These downloads are pretty big.

    Come to think of it, that could be a nice feature in a daw, having the ability to compress a project for exchange purposes during the collab/writing stage. I’d give up hi-fi for a smaller (read: quicker) download while putting things together.

    i don’t care much either way i guess. i like working with wav files and my ftp uploads and downloads pretty quick. but…if everyone wants mp3 that is fine too.

    fwiw, the files i have uploaded yesterday are my finals. all i have left are a few melody fills and a solo which will be up this weekend.

    i forgot to check my vox. i see the first verse and chorus are not what i would like. so i might intonate, re record, or hope somebody else has better vox capabilities!!!

    i have been gone ahwile and unable to finish this tune as soon as i hoped. i did re-sing the first verse. i still need to fix the chorus vox and ad a little lead guitar. hopefully by this weekend.

    o.k. i am uploading the guitar solo, named solo 2_003 and the new 1st verse vox, named vox 3_001.

    i used a little pitch shifting to help the chorus.

    i will post my version of the finished tune tonight with a link here.
