offthewallParticipantHi folks,
First time here.
I just installed CM version of Podium and am investigating. The first little ‘niggle’ that I have is…..with the metronome set up, can you set a ‘count in’ of, say 4 or 8 beats, like in most sequencers?
If so I can’t find it in the tutorials! Thanks.

ZynewaveKeymasterHi,
Count-in is not supported yet. It’s on the future plan.

ZynewaveKeymasterOk then, let’s discuss how this should work. What options would you want in the preferences/metronome page?
March 15, 2007 at 03:00 #9271
psylevationParticipantI think just being able to choose how many “clicks” before it starts would be sufficient, or possibly bars. It starts the metronome first when you hit play, the metronome plays for the specified amount of time or clicks and then recording and playback of the sequence starts on the 1st down beat after the specified time.

I agree with psylevation’s points…that pretty much sums up my thoughts as well…
…a count in feature that uses bars or beats would be useful. Being able to set how many bars or beats would also help.

darcyb62ParticipantI don’t find count in all that useful. Even on products that have it I usually set the recording start to 1 bar sooner. That way I don’t cut off the 1st not if I start a fraction of a not sooner than I should. That’s what gives music feeling.

bcgreenParticipantCount-in, PLEASE for the next release. And it would be handy if the count-in toggle/preferences were accessed by right-clicking the metronome button.
Thanks,

ZynewaveKeymasterIt didn’t make it into the 1.82 release. I need more time to get it right.

Thats cool. As always take your time to get it just right. 🙂 I don’t think any of us want it to be rushed in anyway. 😉

bcgreenParticipantAbsolutely…I’d rather wait and have something working right than have something rushed out before it’s been perfected.
Thanks, Frits!

haikuParticipantAlso maybe the option of 2 different sounds? Normally you get a high tick or a sound similar to a 808 closed hat – it would be nice and also useful to offer a choice between a tick or hihat and also some type of kick sound.
Sometimes I feel like it was a kick drum sound it will be easier for me to record on the upbeat.
You could probably take both of these samples from the default setup of Drumatic (which is synthesized so no legal problems there).

NeoDavinciParticipantAs long as we’re discussing tempo and count in, I’ll refer to my sad post that no one replied to here:
