    Call me noob 😳

I had lots of spiking with Podium, and a poor CPU perfomance. Sometimes I was looking the Podium’s CPU indicator which was at 70% with few plugins, as Phoscyon, Toraverb (High Q Settings), Drumazon, and Poise. I was even thinking into buy a new computer, in one year

I don’t know the reason, but I wanted to change the time until HDs are turned off. So I was to Energy Settings in winXP and I was using the laptop preset. I changed it to maximum power thinking that I only would change the time to turn off, screens, hds… etc… and…

Now I can use 3 Toraverbs with ultra-high quality settings, 3 Phoscyons, and 3 Drumazon without any cpu spike… awesome!

Before I add a phoscyon to the project and that was a 30% on Podium CPU indicator. Now its only 12%. I’m on a Centrino Duo T2500 2GHz.

Now I’ll continue with this PC until 2014 πŸ˜€

I think that when you use the energy saving mode (or whatever it is called), most laptops will slow down the CPU to reduce power consumption. Some of the newer mobile CPU chips will dynamically change their speed in response to software use. The best audio performance is achieved by disabling all power saving options, but your laptop battery will run dry sooner.
