JnvParticipantHello,
I tried the Podium demo, which seems really great, but…
When I first try to record something, it crashes instantly when I armed a track. I made a few tests with imported samples, and noticed that whenever the output reaches a certain threshold (-40db), Podium crashes. I had one Drum sample (fading out sample) imported, played its end, it was ok. Then I got closer to the beginning of the sample, and when the output reached about -40db, Podium crashed.
Please note that I only tested with a new 4 track empty arrangement, I didn’t use any VST for now.
I tried with Asio drivers as well as DirectX drivers, different bitrates, same result.
Needless to say, this is the first time it happens on my computer (3ghz Core 2 Duo, 4gg memory, windows XP SP3), and the other software I use (Tracktion, Reaper…) work perfectly.
My soundcard is EgoSystem Waveterminal 192M.
The thing is, I can hear the output playing correctly, but just as the sound is heard, a crash window appears on the screen.
Does anyone know what happens ?
Thanks a lot.

JnvParticipantWow, I’ve found out why ! When I set the Arrangement RMS Meter Scale to Peak Scale, it crashes at a certain threshold, but if I use any K- Meter Scale, it works fine…
I guess I can call this a bug ? š Anyone else encountered it ?
Anyway, I can now use Podium !

thcilnnahojParticipantWoah, you’re right! šÆ
I don’t know if it’s got to do with a threshold, but I just tested and
it immediately crashed as I started playback (Vista 32-bit SP1 with M-Audio USB soundcard).Don’t worry, I’m sure Frits’ll have it fixed in no time! 8)

ZynewaveKeymasterOuch. Nice find with the peak RMS setting. š
The crash happens in the code for the RMS meters on the track lane headers. That was added a few releases after the RMS mixer meters were implemented. I apparently haven’t tested with the peak RMS setting after that.
I’ll fix this, and probably make a splash-and-dash release of 2.13 the coming weekend.

jpleongParticipanteep! Three incremental releases in two weeks! and fixing bugs…! Frits, you’re awesome, I must say… If this were some other company, they would have said, “Well, just don’t use peak RMS. We’ll fix it in the next version.”

druidParticipantI was going to say, I love you Frits, but I felt that might set a weird mood in this thread… <_>
So then, I was going to say, I will shower you with money when I’m rich, but me getting rich is very close to nil of a chance.
The best I can do is just continue to use your software, recommend it to others, and help out (or make a nuisance of myself) on the forums from time to time.

JnvParticipantHello again,
Still playing with Podium, found another crashing bug :
I opened my ‘new Arrangment’ window with my 4 tracks, Setup->Windows. Click on ‘sequence’ in the list, Show.In the newly opened and empty window, click on View->Arrangement. Bang, crash (at least, on my computer).
Except that, Podium is growing on me :).

Thanks. Now fixed.
