pj geerlingsParticipantFrits,
What features will be delivered next?
The locked sticky in this section regarding furture development seems a bit out of date (April 10th being the last update …)
— I’m still patiently hoping MIDI List Editing gets the nod sooner rather than later đ

functionParticipantI think it’s clear that many are enthusiastic about Podium as a whole – and a lot of us are hoping for specific features in the next release. I am inclined to believe that general development in MIDI features and their manipulation are the most desired features among the community here. I hope our respected developer may also see this trend.

I know I want a more capable set of MIDI features ASAP but I’m not as sure that this is the best way to go overall – that is to say: Frits may have a different vision of the path to “functional completeness” and I try to respect that vision.

The development path some times twist and turn in mysterious ways. Mostly it is prompted by discussions on this forum. I’m happy to follow these byroads, as long as I feel it leads in the same overall direction. I’ve previously made predictions or promises for what new features I’m going to work on next, only to find that the development focus shifts to something else. It pains me that I always have to disappoint some users, so I no longer make any promises as to what lies beyond the next version. All I can say is that on the surface, 2.40 will be a minor bug fix version. Under the hood, 2.40 has a lot of code “housecleaning” that I needed to do in preparation for things to come.

4micaParticipantI’m plum glad you’re on the case, Frits. I had the feeling that there was some kind of restructuring/code fixing going on…I’m happy with Podium in many ways already, so whatever is done can only be better. I’m at the point that other hosts don’t feel right anymore, and maybe it’s because I’ve taken the time to learn Podium, but I think it’s designed better in certain ways. So rock that s— homey! Yeah, I’m old and I love Public Enemy. Good day-

swindusParticipantBug fixing and code cleaning is always a good thing.
