    Hi Frits,

I currently run some x86 plugs that do not have an x64 version yet in Podium…but I just wondered if I was to load up an x64 version of Podium (in future I know its not your current area of focus) would it see the x64 version of any plug and correctly replace the x86 version in a project?

There are quite a few plugins that now have x86 and x64 dll files so I guess I am trying to find out if a project that has say Crunchessor 2.5 x86 in the x86 version of Podium will automatically be replaced with the x64 version of Crunchessor 2.5 in a future x64 version of Podium.

I guess Podium will have to be redirected to an x64 VST folder with the x64 version of Crunchessor in it of course but its the auto replacement that I am curious about. Do you think Podium could do this? :-k

Its important for me now as it might save me a lot of work in future if Podium would be able to do this automatically. I would prefer to not use two versions of Podium (one for older x86 projects and the other for new x64 projects) I know its an unusual discussion as its hypothetical in a way (sorry) but I would like to know if you can give a rough guess if possible. 😉

    Cheers.

If the the x64/x86 versions of a plugin has the same dll filenames, then you can easily exchange them. You just need to move/rename the x86 plugin folders temporarily, so that Podium will not find the plugins when the project is loaded. Then the auto-search will grab on to the x64 dll files with the same names. If the dll filenames are different, then you need to edit the filename in the device mapping properties dialog.
