As far as I can see, the only way Podium will render/downsample a 24 or 32 bit mix (or single track for that matter) into a 16-bit file, is by bouncing the mix or track (which will yield a 32bit float file) and then from the project view go into the sound properties for that file, and there change the bitrate to 16 bit. But in doing so, I’m not sure if Podium dithers/noiseshapes the file in the downsampling process. I haven’t been able to find any option in Podium to select or deselect such an option. Nor have I been able to find any info in the manual. Is there another way to downsample to a 16 bit dithered file? Anybody know about this issue?

    Hi Tore,

Podium does not yet have native dithering support when down-converting bit resolutions in the sound properties. You can put a dithering plugin (or any mastering plugin that supports dithering) in the arrangement master chain and there set the desired target bit resolution.
