Hi Frits,
I don’t know if you have already considered to improve this, but dragging and dropping of files from VSTi is a hazzle at the moment. Take the Universal UVI Player e.g. It is free. There you can drag and drop audio loops directly into the host. Or ezDrummer. It is not fun dragging the included Midi rhythms into Podium. Phrazor would utilize this too. There are a lot of popular VSTi that use drag ‘n drop. Please, do you have any idea, when we will be able to drag directly to a place on a certain track?

Well…as a Stylus RMX user it really is a big deal for me. Being able to drag and drop from certain VSTi’s makes a huge difference. I think it has been brought up before. I guess Frits is juggling a few ideas for 1.77 already no doubt. When this feature does appear in Podium it is certainly something I will make use of straight away.
But “Siegried” remains way ahead at the top of all my FR’s. But yes drag and drop would be a great help especially since I use Stylus RMX. π

It’s on the list, but right now I’m committed to extending the audio features. Let’s talk about this again after SRC, time-stretching etc. has been implemented.
π hm… Ok..
Is it really that big deal to implement? I mean, I really want the features you’re adding right now, but there are numerous VSTi on my harddrive that make use of drag n drop, and many people use ezDrummer or Stylus RMX.. Even the fact that many BEAT users will have a further look on Podium.. Many of them are using loops, and thus use drag n drop a lot.
But timestretching is a VERY important feature for the future (esp. concerning loops) sales of Podium, so please take your time with it! Drag n Drop will have to wait then..

That’s cool. It is important but of course when you are ready…one step at a time.
Cheers! π
As a Stylus RMX and EZD user, I will be watching out for this enhancement as well.
Toontrack is going to release ezPlayer in the near future. This is a midi groove librarian tool which you can use with whatever drum sampler you like. It also utilizes drag n drop to tracks.. I wish we could have that soon.. It would fasten my workflow very much..
As well as RMX I also use Phrazor which also has a drag and drop option.

EZ player is big news, It will make a huge difference if drag and drop is supported in Podium for so many instruments that now support it.
Just a reminder Frits. π

I also have Phrazor, but using Phrazor for midi instead of Podium is a step backwards imo. I like Podium’s midi editor alot, and dragging and dropping midi loops in tracks is so easy compared to Phrazor.. Or I have no idea how to properly do that in Phrazor π³

Phrazor has some features that Podium does not have and vice versa. I can have the best of both worlds as Phrazor can be used as a VSTi. Adding drag and drop support would make that partnership work even better. π
Being an EZdrummer user I would also look forward to see the drag and drop feature implemented.
I just recently purchased Podium (by the way, I was inspired by the feature in the BEAT magazine) and would like to say that I surely have made a good choice. Thanks π
P.S.: Somebody mentioned that faders instead of the knob dials in the mixer would be a good idea. I support that opinion.
Hi all, new Podium user here (bought my license yesterday), and +1 for Stylus RMX drag’n’drop support, I was surprised to find it missing. Otherwise I’m learning the wonders of Podium, it looks great and quite different in concept from other DAW’s I’ve used. I like it π

Hi hvaring, π
Coming up in Podium 1.88: Sound and midi files can be dragged from external file explorers and plugin editors onto tracks.
Super !!! π
Any news for the time / pitch feature ?
