re: Big Transport
Two weeks ago I had a special tracking session for some local improv artists. My setup is really geared towards voice-over and post prod work. And in those situations it works best for no more than two clients at a time. This scenario had three. And none of them had done any recording in a structured environment.
I used the Big Transport as a visual indicator for everyone so they would know where to break things up. I didn’t want to do a 2 hour session straight through as it leaves the door open to possible problems. I also needed them to feel comfortable enough so that they would have a good flow to their performance. We worked out the loose outline ahead of time and recorded things in 30 minute segments.
The Big Transport was a big help as you could see it easily 8-feet away and it was far less of a distraction than me trying to signal the group with some sort of countdown. As always, ymmv…
