Hi Frits,
First Bravo for the embeded editor, after one or two improvements an inline editing of the envelopes will be no more necessary.
It is really excellent to be able to edit the automation or MIDI curves like this.
There is only one thing that makes me a problem, which is not relative to the editor but which make it more ennoying.
When I split a curve track, the two parts of the sequence are not really splitted and are shown in the editor as one sequence.
This can be very confusing, like in this picture :
So, in order to work properly we must “clone phantom sequence” then “crop unique sequence”, which is very time consuming and must be made each time !
It appears also another problem : Podium doesn’t add new points at the split position, which is logical when the sequence remains unique, but result in loss curves when turning the sequences to independant ones.
I suppose that it will be hard or impossible to do with spline curves, but easy to do with linear curves (this is what is done in some hosts).
So my main question is : do you think that you could change the default behaviour, or add an optional shortcut to directly split a curve in two independant parts ?
I think that it will be necessary when there will be the synchronization function within child objects ?
Also, an option to “limit the editor to the current type” will be very nice for me. For example, if it is a a curve that is edited, it will not change if I click on an audio part. The same for a MIDI sequence or other.
Another thing : I have not seen any possibility to add an embeded editor in the Profile Properties, like for the Mixer.
My purpose will be to have TWO editors : one for the MIDI sequence and one for the MIDI curve controllers (like in the old Cubase’s Key Edit, at the place of the velocity zone).
Thanks !
