Guitarists and others needing great-sounding preamps sims and one of the very best IR cabs out there, thanks to the efforts of soundbank designer, guitarist and synth expert extraordinaire EvilDragon, the problems with the Mercuriall downloads have been resolved! Each of these are freeware (of course) and downloads should take no more than a minute or two.
I highly recommend the Mercuriall Cab v3 and related files as one of the two best new IR cabs currently in existence (the other being the ReCab 2, which is not freeware). Further, their recent release of preamps is almost mind-boggling! I really don’t know which to suggest first — the Harlequin or the JCM800? I think you’d better decide for yourselves. In any case, be aware that the preamps, if set on the available oversampling, are extremely hungry for CPU.
