PodianerParticipantHi Frits,
I’d like to see seperate folders for each arrangement. I don’t mean inside Podium, but outside in Windows. Just like in Cubase. One sub-folder for audio, one for midi e.g. would be great. Every file in ONE folder, as it is now, can be very confusing when having a project with 10 different arrangements. Finding one specific file would be much more comfortable with a certain folder structure for each project.
It could look like this:
PROJECT MAIN FOLDER
–> arrangement 1
> audio (with all audio files in it)
> midi (with all midi files in it)
> bounce (with all bounced files in it)–> arrangement 2
> audio
> midi
> bounce–> arrangement 3
…… etc.I hope this makes sense to you. What do you think about it? 😛
And here is just another one.. 🙂 I’m sorry for asking so much!!
It would be very useful if you could implement the windows standard functions for forward and back (just like in windows browser) in the Podium browser. Because I have a mouse with several buttons, and 2 are dedicated to these two functions. I think many people use these buttons to jump through folders. I don’t know if this is possible.. Just giving my 2 cents.. Perhaps another custom keys for these two operations would be enough.
Thanks for listening,

ZynewaveKeymasterSub-folders for arrangements is already on the plan. I think it will only be necessary with one folder for each arrangement. There is no need to create further MIDI/Audio folders, as Podium does not use individual MIDI files.

acousmodParticipantHi,
Just a personal opinion : I don’t like the sub folders in Steinberg, I prefer to decide myself where to put my files, since I organize them by categories, make my own structure of sub folders.
An other point is that I like very much in Podium is the multiple arrangements inside a main project, as they can be different versions with the same files, or different sub parts of the main project which share some files, so I personnaly didn’t whish to have separate folders for each arrangement…
But I suppose that even if it becomes the default in Podium, users will be able to continue to use it like it is now ?December 19, 2005 at 01:41 #5773

The arrangement sub-folders will be optional.

PodianerParticipantI have a question.
I have one project, where I put many arrangements, i.e. songs, in. Let’s say, I have two “different” songs in this project. Both songs use identical track names. Thus the audio files are named the same way.
Is this possible? Or will the files overwrite the ones of another arrangement? I am just not sure if it is safe to name the tracks the same way.

The sound objects may have similar names, but they will be saved with different file names. If a file already exists with the name of the sound object, Podium will save the new sound with 00001, 00002 etc. added to the filename.

Looking forward to that. It would be much better than it is now. Small addition…but very handy if not even essential when working on a large amount of projects.
