druidParticipantHi Frits,
I’m not really sure this question belongs in “support”, it’s not a problem, more of a preference issue, but it didn’t seem to belong in releases or VIP etc. either. I’m sorry if this is the wrong forum to put it in.
So, Podium creates a directory in the My Documents folder. I hate this! I’ve never liked programs adding stuff there unless I tell them to (I never do!). And so, I went in to the podium.ini file and manually changed as many folders as I could find. But after I did this, I could not save a template. My assumption is that Podium didn’t like the changes I manually made to the .ini file.
So I’ve reinstalled (and realised that scheme and layout changes occurred in 1.98 that I wasn’t aware of, which I’d missed because I just loaded my saved .ini file from last time! Oops!) and it works again.
Can more folder options (or at least one) please be added so I can save the stuff that usually goes in My Documents somewhere else? Preferably with the .ini files and similar, in the Application Data, or the installation folder. Somewhere other than My Documents. đ
Also, if there’s a successful way to do this already, please let me know. Thanks!

ZynewaveKeymasterIn the preferences dialog you can set the folder where you want to save your projects. What needs to remain in the “My DocumentsZynewave Podium Projects” folder is the Library folder. I’ll consider adding an option to move this folder in a future update.

druidParticipantYes, I already did that. I’m mostly thinking of templates (the rest in the folder I don’t need… I think), but when I edited those folders manually in the .ini file, it came up with an error when trying to save a template.
Thanks for taking it into consideration!

Please do consider this. I never store anything of value to me in the My Documents folder. Why? Let me explain… Years ago, in the middle of a hard drive dying I had to remove the old drive, add a new one and yet get my data off of the old drive. I was a pain in the a__ getting the stuff out of those personal folders. Yet everything else was a breeze. So nowadays I have to back up all those files that a few programs insist on putting there (in the MyDoc folder) several times a day, just in case. It will put a smile on my face when you add that option for users.
Thanks
