sam cParticipantmy mkII card is what is throwing my cpu In Podium out of whack.
i load a plug from Powercore. after the first pass i hit stop and the cpu goes to 45 ot 50%. I can only correct it by stopping podiums engine. i have tested and re-tested and only PowerCore plugs do this and it is new to 1.98.
appreciate ay help!

ZynewaveKeymasterafter the first pass i hit stop and the cpu goes to 45 ot 50%
What is the CPU % before you press play (with power on of course), and what is the % during playback?
May 16, 2008 at 15:45 #12396
sam cParticipantbefore i press play 2%
when i press play 10%
when i stop 50%
if i stop the engine or remove the powercore plug, back to normal readings.

ZynewaveKeymasterDoes it jump to 50% immediately when you stop?
If you have any other plugins in the effect chain above the powercore plugin, try to remove these to ensure that it’s not those that are responsible for the CPU jump.

sam cParticipantit jumps to 50 as soon as i stop but it is a slow build not an instant jump.
i have removed all plug ins. it took me a few days to figure out that it was only powercore.

ZynewaveKeymasterThis is typical behaviour for plugins with denormal problems, but since you’re only using a single powercore plugin then denormals should not be the problem.
and it is new to 1.98
You mean 1.98 and not 1.99?
I have my doubts that it is something I changed in 1.98 that’s causing this. Please verify this by reinstalling version 1.97, load exactly the same project and check if the CPU problems are gone.
Also, try to disable the “Enable plugin multiprocessing” option in Preferences and see if this has an effect.

sam cParticipantfrits, i do mean 1.98.
i unchecked enable plug in multi processing but no change.
could it be powercore 3.1?
i will try older versions later.
fwiw, i am a big powercore user and at some time on the past this never happened??

If you recently upgraded the powercore software to version 3.1, then I’d say your cpu problem could just as well be an issue with the powercore update than with a Podium update.
i will try older versions later.
Let me know if you try an older Podium version with the new powercore 3.1 drivers. Please also let me know if you manage to otherwise solve the cpu issue.

sam cParticipantfrits, it does appear to be PC 3.01. and, it is not a consistent problem. do you have any idea what they might have done?
thanks

I have no idea. Check the powercore forums to see if others have the same problem.

yeah, no luck at the forum.
one significant difference is it does not happen with two other software programs i use, only seems to happen in Podium…….
