ZynewaveKeymasterI don’t know what’s going wrong. I’m using the Windows File Explorer on Vista, and not IE7. How do you upload files using IE7?

ZynewaveKeymasterI can’t find a upload ftp command in my IE7 page menu. There is a “Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer” command. I’m on Windows Vista, which may be the difference.
Can anyone recommend some freeware FTP explorers?
I’ve previously used:
http://filezilla-project.org/
I stopped using it when I got Windows Vista, and found that I could use Windows Explorer for all my FTP needs.April 9, 2008 at 03:01 #12123

I have had a pretty good experience with this one. It is reasonably streamlined and won’t install a miriad of other crap as well. I think it is Vista ready as well but it may pay to double-check.
CoreFTP LE is what you’re after….

druidParticipantI use FileZilla myself, though I’m still using the older 2.xx version. I’m not sure if version 3.xx has caught up with features or if it suits my needs, and haven’t needed to bother trying it yet.

PiginiParticipantTotalcommander http://www.ghisler.com has ftp-support built in.
It starts with a nag screen when not registered, but is fully functional.

“How do I upload files to an FTP website?
To upload files to an FTP website, you usually need certain permissions from the person who owns the site. That person must also give you a user name and password, which you’ll need to sign in to the FTP site.Open the FTP website in your browser.
Click Page, and then click Open FTP site in Windows Explorer. If you use a different web browser, follow the instructions that came with your browser. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
In Windows Explorer, press ALT, click File, and then click Login as.
Type the user name and password, and then click Log On.
After you sign in, you can copy files to the FTP website by copying and pasting.”
Just copy and paste.
Or…use Filezilla (which you already have / have used) it works on Vista here, unless you are having problems with it 😐
