I think it’s good he poasted this. It confused me at first too – maybe theres a more friendly way of doing it?
When you’re new to the program you see it with fresh eyes.
Lets hope so…
I definatly do not see with fresh eyes, i used Cubase on Atari and later on PC from early 90s until 98, since then i’m looking desperatly for any easy to understand sequencer. Naturally, if i like it or not, i compare avery new software to cubase i used back then, it’s an instinct and not easy to switch off. But times have changed and things got more complicated. Today we’re working with audio tracks, no more midi hardware synths (me for once), virtual instruments, freezing tracks, sends/returns/routing, and more, its alot to take in and to bring all these features under a hood. Cubase SX got way too complicated for me, too big, too slow, too (you-name-it). I always try to keep open minded, but it’s not easy and you detect yourself falling into old pattern, which are not necessary always good.
