Hi,
Get this error box from the halion player when I load a track that uses the halion player but I haven’t connected the eLicencer usb device.
Title: eLicencer Contol – Error
Appliation ‘HALion PLayer 3.x has caused the following error
No eLicencer connected
Options:
-For trouble shotting click
.. etc..
[Help] [Retry] [Cancel]
I get this 1st then after I click [cancel] I get…
Title: eLicencer Contol – Error
Attention if you cancel this operation the application might crash.
Options:
-For trouble shotting click
.. etc..
[Help] [Retry] [Cancel]
Then I have to cancel becuase I don’t physically have my elicence USB key with me so retry just goes on forever ….
Eventually podium will just crash as i was warned…
I don’t think this used to happen.
I have just got a new laptop and have moved from 32 bit vista to 64 bit win 7
I have got updated halion player and updated elicencer software (Suspect this is what has caused the crash to heppen now)
I suspect that the elicencer is trying to make the host crash on purpose. (Damn them!!)
My prefered behaviour is that the halion player just gets flagged as “has an error” and then tempoaraily unloaded.
that way if I had previously bounced the halion player tracks then it wouldn’t matter if I didn’t have my elicencer plugged in.
I typically find that if I’ve got 1/2 hour on the train I might load podium and edit an arranagement and I often don’t have my usb elicencer with me at the time, it’s always at home so I don’t lose it!
Hope you can help.
My ideas:
-Either an option for bounced tracks to unload their plugins.
-Or some way of detecting exceptions thrown from plug-ins when then are first loaded and then don’t try loading them again.
-Or Maybe someway of tempoarily disabluing a plug-in before I open an arrangement.
Note to self: Never buy steinberg software again! I appreciate the need to protect software (i too make my living from writing software) but arrrrgh this is to annoying!!
Thanks in advance,
Mike G
