The messages you mention is displayed by the Microsoft installer utility that the Podium installer uses.

How did you uninstall Podium?
Have you deleted any Podium files manually with the file explorer?
Have you done any system restore or cleanup using regedit?
Have you ever installed other Podium versions than the CM1.77?
I have had this kind of problem reported once before. Have a look at this topic and see if it is similar to your problem:
honestly i don’t remember, i do remember in NOT showing up in the Add or Remove utility, i remember removing it through Podium’s Installer… as far as a System Restore, there was one but minor and i don’t think it was in the time frame involved, although i did have to physicaly remove Podium files once, they seem to have been left behind, given the program ran, but it would not uninstall, nor could it create Templates (or their path) and i imagine other functions were non operational.
i looked at the post you linked me to, i did find one 78C7CFC92127A4F4F9F132D7C313C4B2 once, in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTInstallerUpgradeCodes, but no other times, after deleting it, i still had the same problem when trying to install PodiumCM177, strangly… i can install your latest DEMO (kinda was hoping to get to play with more than just the DEMO)…
this is weird, i can install the latest DEMO, i cannot install the CM177 version, i tried copying it to the desktop, expanding the ZIP and tried to install, same message, i tried using stuffit pro and expand it directly from the CM DVD, same message, i even tried opening the installer through Stuffit, same problem…
the link was a lot of help in getting the v1.83 Demo to install but it still hasn’t helped me with CM177 as of yet (which is what i would like to play with at the moment since it’s limitations are not intrusive so as i can get a real feel for the program before i decide to purchase it)…
still hoping you can help…
rich…
tried a reboot, can still install v1.83 Demo but not CM1.77…

I reinstalled Podium CM1.77, and found this packagecode with regedit:
08926EA848E5E1E4CB7D8207C781309F
After uninstalling Podium, this code were no longer found with regedit. Try searching for this code.
THANK YOU!!! It WORKED!!!
now give me some time to play, learn the ins and outs, follow where you are going with Podium and chances are (i know i will in time, i am just lazy) i will be buying Podium…
rich..
THANX AGAIN!!!
