sam cParticipanti want to look at Podium as a potential for my personal recording software. i have used sonar and cubase but currently use Reaper and just left SAW after two years.
so, what would you suggest to help me get started. from the little i have seen it seems i should get ready to learn a completely new approach.
oh yeah, i have a pent 4 – 3.4 gHz, 2 gig ram -dual monitor, and i use a FF800 for my soundcard.
thanks

ZynewaveKeymasterHi,
A good place to start is the “Getting Started” tutorial in the Podium guide. If you’d like a more passive introduction, take a look at the videos on the about page and the recent videos created by Podianer on the wiki/tutorials page. Note that the videos on the about page are quite old and not up to date with the latest Podium release.

I wonder…might it not avoid confusion now Frits if you removed those older videos? Podianers videos are far more up to date and if anything the older vids are useful but IMO a bit misleading now as Podium has changed significantly to say the least since those videos were originally made.
Of course with other priorities on your plate we cannot expect you to do everything (creating more new videos) but I really do think if you have to warn or advise people before watching those videos it may be time to take them down.
Podianers videos really do better reflect the high number of changes in Podium recently. The older videos just might cause some confusion for new users.

ZynewaveKeymasterPodianers videos are excellent, but they do not cover e.g. the integration of external hardware, as one of my older videos do. So I’ll leave them up a little longer. There’s also a small note about the age of the videos below the video links.

Ok, good point. I was not aware of that. 🙂 It would be better to keep them up then, and the note you added will definitely help. 😉
