    Hey Frits,

What do you think about adding a “select all tracks” command in the track list window. This way when you import a MIDI file that has many tracks, you don’t have to individually select each track and select “Increase Group Level”. This way, you could right click, choose “select all tracks”, and then slect the “Increase Group Level” command. It would greatly speed up the MIDI import file process!

Or maybe an even easier solution is to automatically import any MIDI tracks to the level 2 hierarchy. Afterall, they have to be at least at the level 2 hierarchy to be heard, since the “Master Out” must always be track heirachy 1, correct? So, whenever you’ve imported a MIDI file the only things you’d have left to do are add your “Stereo Master” out mapping, and the VST instrument mappings?

One other thought, on that same track menu (when you right click on the track list), how about adding 2 additional options, “move track up” and “move track down”. The tracks would stay in their same heirarchy levels, but just bump up or down one track space.

We do appreciate the frequent updates you’ve been putting out!!! In reference to an earlier post you had regarding your marketing department being under staffed; fire that BUM πŸ™‚

I’ve added ‘selection of multiple tracks’ to the plan.

When I get to the MIDI file import, it will automatically set up the tracks with audio support, if the import detects that it should use softsynths on the tracks.

If you have a project where you have imported a general MIDI compatible softsynth, then it should be possible to make the import procedure set up the arrangement without requiring the user to do any further editing.

One other thought, on that same track menu (when you right click on the track list), how about adding 2 additional options, “move track up” and “move track down”. The tracks would stay in their same heirarchy levels, but just bump up or down one track space.

You can drag a track up or down in the track list with the mouse using the rearrange or pencil tool. Would you still like the menu options, and why?

Sounds good Fritz, glad to see you already have it all thought out. Nah, no reason for the additional option on the menu if the Rearrange Tool does the same thing with track moving. In fact, the less cluttered the better! I like flexibility but sometimes when a program gives you 3 or 4 ways to do the same thing, it’s overkill and starts to clutter the working environment.

My feelings exactly. That’s why I hoped you wouldn’t want the menus, knowing that you can just drag the tracks around πŸ™‚
