I have a Steinburg UR12 that I would like to use for monitoring when I’m recording a track. The problems are thus:

    1) Monitoring through Podium Free always has an unbearable delay. It may be a problem with my computer because monitoring through a program like Bandlab has the exact same delay. I read somewhere that Podium is supposed to detect latency and correct for it, but either it’s not, or it is but the latency comes in after podium is done processing it. Besides that the UR12 has inbuilt monitoring that works like a charm, and I would rather use that then the monitoring in Podium Free when laying down tracks.

    2) I don’t want to set the audio output to go back through the UR12 because it can start randomly bit-crushing the signal going through into my headphones, and it creates an echo. But I would like to listen to other tracks so that I know where I am in the song and what not.

I am tearing out my hair trying to find the setting that will allow me to record and simultaneously hear other tracks, without hearing the track I’m actively recording through Podium. Please help me save my hair.
