Hello Fritz and all. First off, thank you so much for Podium, it has been a wonderful experience getting to know it. I love it so much I hate working on other systems – i try to convince everyone else I work with to switch!

I’m wondering about the system Podium uses to locate and recognize plugins – is it by location, or by name? When I first set up my system, I dropped all my plugins into one folder, now that I’ve got 100 or so, it’s impossible to find anything. I’d like to start separating them into subfolders, but I’m wondering about the efect on previous projects – will I have to re-map all my FX chains when pulling up old songs?

Not that I can’t do that, I just would like to know how much of a challenge/headache I have in front of me!

    Hi,

Podium identifies plugins by their filepath+filename. So if you have moved plugins to different folders then your old Podium projects will show the plugin mappings as being broken (colored red in the project start page device list). You can then use the “search for missing plugins” command in the devices menu. Podium will search the folder you select (including subfolders) for any of the missing plugin filenames, and use the new filepath location if found.
