Hi, Loving Podium but having a small problem setting up a MIDI keyboard, any suggestions much appreciated.

I have a MIDI keyboard but it only seems to work one-way (ie- i can add notes manually in the Podium Piano Roll Editor and they play the correct sounds on the correct VST MIDI track, but when i try to use the midi keyboard to get notes into the Podium Piano Roll Editor nothing is recorded and no sounds are played on the VST)

This is my setup in Podium:

Track 1 – Podium AUDIO Master
    Track 2 – VST – MIDI (multi-channel instrument)
    Track 3 – VST – MIDI channel 1
    Track 4 – VST – MIDI channel 2
    Track 5 – VST – AUDIO

I’m obviously missing a setting or something? Many Thanks.

Assuming you’ve already set up your midi ins/outs on the project page, have you selected the midi input device on the instrument track header? It’s the lower selector on the track header in the pic

    midi input

    Hello Katia,
Once you’ve selected a MIDI input, as kingtubby suggests, you can engage the option to “Auto-Assign to Focus Track” (right-click menu on MIDI In slot).

You’ll also need to click the “R” button to arm that track for recording. When you hit record, on the main transport, the armed track(s) will highlight in red.
