I have a problem importing new wav files into a project.

When I start a new project I can drag and drop files and generate new channels for them.
But after building a mix I can’t drag and drop new files and the import file doesn’t work either.
I get an error message: ”Could not open file ‘filename.wav’”.
If a file is imported in the beginning the drag and drop works fine creating a new channel but only if there is this icon of a pin in front of that file name.

I have podium free version 2.42 and files I try to import are in the same folder than the files already imported in to the project when I created it.

I created a new project and had the same problem with that same file so I think there is something wrong in the file.

I opened the file in wavosaur editor and everything seems to be ok. I saved the file with different name and now the new file can be imported into the project without any problem.

Then I opened the properties windows of these files and the only difference I can find is the bitrate value. The file that couldn’t be loaded doesn’t have any value and the new file saved by wavosaur has value 1 058 kbps.

My guess is that the problematic file is saved in a format that Podium does not support. Resaving it in wavosaur will then save it in the proper wav file format. How was the wav file originally created?
