Hey guys, i’ve been trying out Podium, hopefully to replace/supliment ProTools. Anyway, i must admit its a bit difficult going from PT to Podium, theres alot thats different. So i have a few questions…

    1. How can one import wave files to a track? I’d like to import a few tracks from another PT session and see how Podium handles the mixes/plugins, etc…and hopefully learn the plugin/track heirachy better

2.Bounceing to disk- I’m having a bit of trouble figuring out how to render a bounce to disk. I saw in the tutorial about rendering to the master track. But is there any way to bounce your final mixes to Desktop, say?

3.I was planning on buying another interface- maybe Motu traveler- are there any specifically recommended, or any suggestions on which ones work best in Podium and PC, preferably with four ins. min.?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    1. Either open a list window (Ctrl+L) or open the embedded list panel with the button at the top right corner. Resize the panel so you reveal the file explorer. Locate your wave file and drag it to a track.

    2. The bounce sound on the master track is a regular wave file, so you can use the save command in the sound editor file menu to save it to a specific location. By default it will be placed in an arrangement subfolder within the project folder.

    3. In these days with Vista replacing XP, I would say it’s important to go with a manufacturer that are updating drivers regularly and that will deliver Vista drivers for both 32/64 bit. For Podium it is important that there are ASIO drivers available, but I don’t know of a single soundcard that does not have ASIO drivers.

is it possible to import midi files in the same way?

Yes. Only the first track in the MIDI file will be loaded when you drag a MIDI file onto a track.
