ZynewaveKeymasterHi pj,
I have never tried the XP Media Center Edition, and I have not had reports concerning this either. Have you tried Podium yet on the Media Center? Any problems?

I recently got a laptop that came with Media Center pre-installed; it was only after buying it that I read that Media Center does not support any major DAW program.

There are (unconfirmed?) reports that XP Media Center works with Traction. There are some conflicting reports regarding Cubase & Media Center. I haven’t heard anything about Podium and I thought I’d pop in here and ask π

I’ll try the demo and report back

I did use MCE some time ago and cannot remember having any issues with Podium. It has always been rock solid as far as reliability is concerned. Of course that was on my system so I cannot speak for others so YMMV but I had no issues running Podium on MCE. π

Thanks for the feedback! I downloaded the latest demo of Podium as well as the release version of ASIO4All and gave it a try on my XPMCE laptop – only one hang and that was probably because I tried to change the sample rate while a demo tune was running. I’ll try a few more experiments – mainly to see if NuBiPlus (and my other plugs under development) will run under the MS VCpp debugger / Podium. If so, I’ll buy this host.

pj geerlingsParticipantupdate – MSVCpp debug experiment was a success!

MaxParticipantHey PJ.
I’m glad to hear you’re keep on coding your great plugs.
NuBi is not my kind of sound, but I’ve tried it some time ago just out of curiosity… And I was very impressed.I believe that Podium will give you extra inspiration. It’s veeery good sequencer π

I’m glad to hear you checked it out. It is a very (very) old school sound and perhaps not for everybody π

So the best I can do is to wish you luck with your projects! I hope that they will be released someday. π

duncanparsonsParticipanthey pj, great to see you here!
Glad to hear of further developments as well π
For myself, I find Podium to be a great dev host, solid ,reliable, doesn’t need you to put the dll anywhere special or set the compiler output to the std VST folder (dangerous!) π
