    Hi,

I’m evaluating a number of VST hosts and am now looking at Podium. After having spent more than an hour without getting any sound I have come to the conclusion that this feels like a pretty flexible host but with a workflow that I am not at all used to. Nothing prevents me from getting used to it – I’m not afraid of a little hard work – but then I need to be assured that the host offers the features that I require.

So, can anyone tell me if the following things are possible:

    – Midi step recording.
    – Moving step recording cursor from qwerty keyboard.
    – Moving playback cursor from qwerty keyboard.
    – Selecting multiple notes from qwerty keyboard.
    – Getting audial feedback when selecting and transposing notes from qwerty keyboard and/or by using mouse.

Generally, I am looking for a VST host that lets me work as much as possible from the keyboard when composing and that doesn’t force me to grab the mouse all the time when I am most concerned with getting my notes into the piano roll editor. I rarely record midi in real-time so I need to be able to program everything step-wise. This is because I often program rather complicated beats with a lot of instruments that are difficult to record in real-time.

So, given these premises would Podium be a host that suit me? I would appreciate any constructive comments and feedback.

    Thanks,
    Tomas

    Hi,

There are a number of key shortcuts that you can use to manipulate events and enter note events. I don’t know if they are sufficient for what you need for step editing. Check out the “common editor shortcuts” and “piano roll & drum map editor shortcuts” sections in the key shortcuts table:
