The TelenatorParticipantI think this qualifies as a Support topic issue, since so many of us have used these now or earlier and may want to install them again. Also, for beginners, these are among the first free effects plugins I mention, because of their stability, ease of use, and more than acceptable sound.
Well, as a few of you may have heard, it looks like Kjaerhus closed up shop sometime last year. It has pulled its download site off the Net as well, which means links at gersic and KVR are no longer good. Suddenly, there has been this big scramble to find these plugins, if only for nostalgic reasons to some.
While they are still freeware and remain so, you can find them available separately at the evil Brothersoft downloads site. (They are one of those notorious download hosting sites, along with Softpedia, that used to [maybe still do?] install spyware on your PC while you were getting the freeware you were orginally desiring. I think nowadays they only bundle tons of unwanted software with your downloads, such as PDF editors, so BEWARE. I should post a separate thread just about this!)
Well, you can suffer through Brothersoft for any/each of the 9 classic plugins, OR you can get the whole bundle of 9 in a (tested) safe installer package I found out about. This site is valid as of this posting, but you never know when things may change. Since the installer bundle is a small package, I might suggest anyone even remotely interested can download this and shove it in a file somewhere for safe keeping. (The whole thing is only 3.2Mb.) I mean, I don’t use it, but their limiter is even good enough to master with. I discovered that Acoustica is currently hosting them, right here:

kim_otcjParticipantI got my Classic plugins from the Computer Music Magazine cover-disk — which is also where I got the first version of Zynewave Podium that I used.

The TelenatorParticipantOh yes! Glad you mentioned that, kim! In fact, I believe they vow to keep those on their disk forever. Sadly, that mag is much lessor known and read in the States. I can’t even find a copy in shops.

adimatisParticipantThe Classic Pack is pretty much the only VST effect bundle that I carried with me along these years, even though there are plenty of options now. I love them. Too bad Kjaerhus closed down.
Particularly I use the Delay, Chorus and Limiter. Sometimes Compressor too.

kim_otcjParticipantI find I’m using them less these days, because I’m gradually finding newer plugins that sound better.
But it’s still a pretty good place to start, because the collection is quite comprehensive. I’ll still use stuff like Classic Chorus and Classic Phaser if I want those effects.
