HI
Tried the latest demo – lo and behold (after several demo attempts over 2 or so years) it almost makes sense!!!
But I am stuck on trying to get loop mode working; I simply want to loop a 4 bar midi segment – I have the ‘L’ button ‘on’ and have the green bars set – but no looping occurs?
What am I doing wrong, anyone.
Just a thought – wouldn’t it be a time saver and very convienient addition to allow a scroll wheel mouse to expand/contract (horizontaly) the editors by placing it over a timebar/line – seems like a missed opportunity, and a time saver.
Thanks.

Hi,

If you mean the ‘L’ button next to the timeline, that one sets the mouse edit mode of the timeline. Use poup-help or right-click the timeline to see the corresponding menus. The bottom transport toolbar has the Loop enable button (key shortcut: L). When loop is enabled the editor background will highlight the loop range.

I’ll consider it. You can hold ctrl+alt and use the mouse-wheel to zoom horizontally with the mouse anywhere in the editor. Holding shift will scroll horizontally.

+ 1000 !
(and / or an option to zoom horizontally with the wheel without any key… old repetitive request…)
HI
Thank you for the quick response – I will go try it out.
I think the more you can do with a mouse the better (that is also how my cat feels!) – keyboard commands seem suited to some people – my keyboard is not ergonomically positioned for that!

He he 🙂 I am not a big fan of key commands either. They can be useful but I hardly ever use them.
I have now implemented extended support for mouse wheel. Using the wheel over the timeline region will zoom in/out. Using the wheel over sliders will scroll the slider. This means you can scroll the horizontal timeline slider without having to hold the shift key. The wheel also works over the zoom sliders in the editors. Coming up in release 1.82.
Something about the way the key commands in Podium are set up has me using them more than any other sequencer I’ve used. The seem intuitive and well thought out, for example zooming vertical with “ctrl+shift” or horizontal with “ctrl+alt” that just makes sense and makes it easy to remember.
Right now my desktop background is the Podium key shortcut reference image.

Great, thanks!

What a very good news !
Thanks a lot !
HI
WOW!
I hope this will benefit many users who like the option of using the mouse rather than key commands – I think this feature will probably see me get my credit card out.
I do like the way the piano-roll has developed; it is detachable, resizable, clear, intuitive and responds to a range of key commands and extended mouse usage!
