deaParticipantHow many simultaneous audio tracks have folks been able to record using Podium and a usb 2.0, or fireware interface.
I’m just curious. I setup a Lexicon Omega with 4 simultaneous tracks and right when I hit record, Podium crashes.
I have great luck recording 2 tracks simultaneously.
I’m sure it’s a computer deal and I probably just need to tweak things to function a-ok.
I would like to understand this because I do plan on purchasing another interface…that will support 8 simultaneous ins.
I will grab the report of the audio interface shortly and provide this to you along with the steps I took to cause the failure, but I’d just thought folks had some quick items to try out before I dig deeper into this issue.
I really want this to work since Podium is by far the best audio app I have used, and I’m one picky dude who had tried all of the high end and mid range products looking for something that has the beef, but the not the bloat. I’m still dumbfounded as to why it took me so long to give this program a whirl. Righteous Podium!!!!
I have included my system setup just in case someone shares a similiar setup.
Thanks so much!!
System:
Sony Vaiao. 2.1Ghz T8100 Duo Core Centrino. 3Gig Ram. 5400rpm 320gig drive. 766Mhz front side bus. 3meg onboard cache.April 13, 2009 at 16:28 #14929
LiquidProj3ctParticipantNow I’m pretty far from my house (where I’ve Podium installed), but I can remember that one time I record four track simultaneoly without problems… maybe a hardware problem?

pavouk100ParticipantI’m successfully recording 10 tracks simultaneously, using emu1212m PCI audio card (8 tracks of drums multimicing going through ADA8000 – ADAT – EMU, 1 track of line-in bass and one track of everything else together just so that the drummer&bassman knows what the rest of the gang plays). I’ve no problems with this setup.

roninParticipant22 Tracks using a Presonus Firestudio. It was a full band live recording with a not very up-to-date notebook. Worked like a charm.

deaParticipantThat is tasty info. I’m going to purchase an interface specifically for Podium. I’m looking at the M-Audio, Fast Track Ultra 8R – which has 8 inputs. I will surely need to record all 8 simultaneously, but that should be it for some time to come.
Do any of you know if this unit being used with Podium successfully?

UncleAgeParticipantNo info on the M-Audio other than I have a firewire Solo that is reliable as all get-out. However, I’ve recorded 6 at the same time with no problem using an Echo Audiofire 8.
