Topic: Midi CC to VST/VSTi Automation?

    Hi!
    Another little newbie question 😳

    How can i record with my midi controller fader bank (marvellous kenton freak 😉 ) automation for VST and VSTi ?
    I mean not only for those VST/i that have internal midi functionalities (like z3ta+ i.e. or the smartelectronix stuff).

    You can’t do that currently. Support for MIDI remote controllers is on the plan, but it may be a couple of months before I start work on it.

    I assume what you are looking for is some kind of MIDI learn command, so that you can map MIDI messages to regular VST parameters.

    exactly…or even a way to assign a midi controller input in the parameter properties window…maybe even OSC (OpenSoundControl) messages 😉

    btw is now possible to automate the plugs using their GUI controllers?
    ’cause i noticed that if i do it via the Podium curves their knobs/sliders/etc.. does’nt move according to the automation…or am i doin’ something wrong?

    Yes, that was implemented in 1.21. The latest demo is 1.20, but I’ll release a new demo later this month.

    what do you think about OSC?

    I haven’t studied the OSC spec, so I don’t have an opinion about it. You’re the first to bring it up in relation to Podium. I think there are a ton of other features that I need to work on, before jumping into something like OSC.

    this is a feature I’d like to see as well, but i’m prepared to wait as i’ve been working around it so far 😉

    Just an oversight. “Map MIDI control change messages to VST parameters.” is now added to the list. Thanks.
