Hi there,
I like to add a feature request I think about every time I do a multichannel work within Podium. It’s about the Zoom Slider within the Mixer view. I’m doing a lot of mobile recordings. For that I own a Laptop computer capable of a max. display resolution of 1366×768 pixel! While I am working I often need an overview of all levels in the mixer. As the Mixer Zoom is only adjustable between 100-200%. At 100% this give me an overview of max. of 12 channels plus the Master. So I suggest it would be a great feature to change this setting to 50 or lower to 200% giving a smaller view, maybe only showing the meter! This would add an nice overview for larger arrangements. I mean 12 tracks is really not enough. In my case, especially not in recording situations. Imagine the use of busses for headphone or monitor mixes or FX during recording…
I hope this isn’t complicated to add, and maybe available in one of the next releases.
Greetings kLas

Good idea. Maybe there could be option to minimize the mixer strip to thin lanes with meters (and thin volume slider/pan) only… (effects hidden) like in FL Studio.
A function where you can quickly zoom out all tracks is on the plan. It may not be possible to make it a smooth percentage zoom, like the current 100-200%.
Is there a need for extra-minimizing individual tracks? I’m thinking about a minimize button on each strip, similar to the minimize button at the top right corner of the track lane headers.
I think, it would be nice to be able to have something like a minimize view, with only the meter and the volume fader visible…
By working at larger projects it would give an better overview…
And of course, to be able to define a mixer profile as a multitrack mixer view…

I don’t think that such a feature has to be on every track. As Trancit mentioned, it would be very nice to have a minimized view at a given size. Meter and Fader would be nice. If its possible a Pan knob too.
Greetings
I´d like to have this button on every strip (to minimize some which aren´t so important or so often used)…
I’d be fine with the smallest possible strip just having meters (maybe without the numeric displays, just a few more marker lines added on the meters, like on the track headers) and no faders. Or dials? New dials with an optional glass look? Oh, don’t mind me… 😉
Also, maybe they could have a simple indication for assigned input and source (kind of like solo/mute on minimized strips).
Personally, I really like this mini-strip in the RME mixer, but the layout wouldn’t fit in well with Podium…
I would like a function to extra-minimizing individual tracks and a zoom function for values smaller 100%. As already said this would give a better overview.
The next Podium 2.36 release will feature some improvements to the mixer. The mixer zoom slider now ranges from 20% to 200%. As you move it below 100% and towards 20%, some of the controls will disappear, such as the BSMR buttons and the grid control. Still, at 20% you have the full-size meters as well as the faders overlaid translucent on top of the meters. That actually turned out to work quite well during my experiments.
Sounds great. Thanks!
If you’re working on mixer gui maybe it’s the right moment to ask for wider resizable meters and ctrl+alt+mousewheel as shortcut to zoom mixer strips as we do in arrangement and editos.
May ask, there where is tracks, editor, mixer etc. buttons and if you click mixer, it naturally open mixer. But same time you lost VSTI’s editor button on playlist view. This is pretty stupid. Need to click “tracks” again to get editor button visible, which takes unnecessary time.. Too many clicks..

Resizable meters won’t make it into this release, but the slide and zoom tools will.

That’s a setting you can change in the mixer region dialog. I disabled the controls in the mixer default setup, because the mixer has all the controls normally on the track headers, and I wanted to show that it’s possible to configure the layout of the track headers. I’ve now removed that customization in the default setup, to avoid confusion.
