Hi – I’m playing around with the Busses project and I’m trying to build on the examples and I’m finding it a bit hit and miss!

What would be great is to have is a basic pre-configured mixing desk with 4 AUX sends, group routing, EQ etc all set up for say 16 channels.

    What do you think?

    Hi,

I could create a shortcut in the projet wizard Arrangement panel that would automatically create the tracks needed to route e.g. a reverb plugin as a send bus. Is this what you had in mind?

If you want to start out with the mixer layout as you described, you would need to create this once and save the project as ‘Default.pod’ (as described in the 1.14 release topic). Then every time you start up Podium you would have this mixing desk template to start out with.

..that would be a good idea!

It would be great (blue sky here!) to have a mixer builder tool where you start with a drum group, then add kick, snare, hi-hat etc….and then add the aux send etc…..does that make sense?

Then it would be good to pick the vst effects from within the mixer tracks. Like Cubasis.

Anyone else got some ideas on this?

    Cheers TC

I’ve already spent some time with this kind of thing.

I have a number of different setups, depending on what I would want to do. For instance, I have the normal default, just for quickly trying something, A simple template for a couple of synths, and a bit of bussing, to a full setup with my common VST/is already mapped in, with Drums preconfigured, a couple of busses (reverb and delay), so all I then need is the tune.

Trouble with too many predefined things is the imagination can get stifled, and everything sounds the same. For instance, if I want to change the ‘verb to a different plug, I’m less likely to if something adequate is already mapped. If I want a different drum sound, it would be better to start with nothing there, and import something new and fiddle.

Having said that, we are creatures of habit, and if you have something that works, you use it!
