Hallo Guys,
I know there are some very proud Podium users here pls help..
I just moved from cubase, I can say it seems a very good product so far BUT>
In cubase I had all the different assignable MIDI tracks.. How can I do that in Podium? i.e. I’m using sampletank which has the option to assign different sounds to different MIDI channels; problem is that I can’t assign my tracks in Podium to specific MIDI ch.
Right now I have 1 master group track with under it an audio part (which is ok, I can play with inserts and plugins quite nicely) and a MIDI one which is mapped to my sampletank 1+2…still, I can’t give the track a set MIDI ch to work on.. I hope u could help me here… i.e. have track x to midi ch1,track y to midi ch2..etc.etc..
LAST> I wonder if any of u could tell me why I have an offset of 3 beats in my VST rec.
That is, I rec 4 beats with sampletank, no latency no lag–all ok. BUT when I stop rec, I don-t see all 4 beats recorded..but just my last beat, which also compares as beat 1 not 4…very weird I wonder what could that be
thx
bye
😯
UPDATE:
here is some more info,
Frits, I’ve been told by anfmusic on kvr-vst forum to give u some more bits of the problem.. let me know, bye+
Sampletank: I simply assign a track under the master track to the plugin. press rec and start playing my controller. there’s no latency issue whatsoever (5ms) everything plays in sync.
Still, when I stop rec, the 1st 3 bars of the track are missing and it all starts on my 4th bar of play.
e.g. press rec, play 4 bars, press stop= only 4th bar played is rec and is placed under bar 1 as if I just played that bar.. ?!?
I’m sure is something with s.tank since any other VST/plugin works just fine.
Hi,
the most simple way to do this is via the project wizard.
Load your plugin there as multitimbral.
When you do it like that podium will create a device mapping for every channel of that plugin.
In Podium you can load a plugin as insert which means that for every time you assign it a new instance will be created.
For a multitimbral plugin this way is not preferable because you want to acces the same plugin via different channels. To achieve this podium makes a global plugin instance. which means you can map the same plugin different times but it stays the same instance of the plugin. by making a global plugin you can duplicate it and point each devicemapping of it to another midi channels (but the wizard did that for you now)
You can check this if you load your plugin as multitimbral. in your project browser in the devices there will be created different device mapping for that plugin (for all channelsà. doubbelclick on one of the device mappings and you’ll see that global is checked and that that instance is assigned to a specific midi channel. It’s also posible to do this manual but for now the wizard is best
Now you can map your tracks with all the needed device mappings for every channel.
Dont’t forget to click right on one Sample thank mapped track and choose plugin preset and there new bank preset library. Click syncronize on the left preset tab. now your plugins presets will be stored with your podium project. You just have to asign it to one of youre Sample Thank tracks and all will be syncronized (because it’s a global instance)
I hope this is somewhat clear
Hi nixis00,
You should import the sampletank plugin into your project using the ‘import multitimbral plugin’ button in the Project Wizard plugin mappings panel. This will create 16 MIDI channel mappings in addition to the audio mappings. The plugin is then configured as a global plugin, meaning you need to assign the audio mapping to one track (or several audio mappings to tracks if using multioutput), and any number of the MIDI mappings to other tracks.

That does sound very weird. Are you talking about recording your MIDI input or the audio bouncing to the master track? If you’re talking about MIDI recording, then you could try to enable the ‘ignore time stamps from driver’ option for the MIDI input in the interfaces dialog.
Edit: Damn kagemusha, you posted 2 secs before me. I will have to start paying you for doing my support 😉
I must smell it. I just went to this forum after two days or so. Strange 😆
