    Just thinking aloud here.. 🙂

The dials used for Gain and Pan in Podium are IMO (and as been noted elsewhere in another thread) are probably a bit too similar. Perfectly usable of course, but still too similar IMO.

Having used the zPitch, I thought the horizontal slider that was implemented there works soooo well and is so smooth in usage, so I thought well why not use that as a replacement for the panners used in the Mixer, at Track level and the Group panel?

But to save you all thinking how this might look 🙂 in the mixer or Group panel, I thought I would create two mock ups…

This first one shows the new panner idea (taken from the zPitch horizontal slider) in Podiums mixer. Of course the “R30” value reading is simply a rough guess I made at just how far on a percentage scale the pan would probably be, judging by the yellow graphic read out underneath it.

The Group panel mirrors the contents of hidden tracks in a track lane, but I noticed there is no panner (unless I missed it somehow) so I thought I might as well do a mock up of the zPitch horizontal panner idea in the Group Panel as well…

Again the “R45” value is just a rough guess as to the exact panning percentage value judging by the position of the yellow graphic representation under it.
    Thoughts? 😉

Good idea, at least in the mixer. The pan setting is not included in the group panel because of space considerations. The place where you’ve drawn the panner is where the send dials are placed on bus send tracks.

Now I know why there are no panning controls in the Group panel 🙂 Glad you liked the mixer mock up anyway. 😉
