I’m very new to Podium (demo) so I’m probably missing some things. I love the UI and I’d love to use it. If I mention something here I missed in the user guide please forgive me.
1. Automation – Is there a way to add a fader to an audio track in the mixer without enabling automation? I want to be able to use faders on channels in the mixer and then turn on automation only when and where I need it. I find it difficult to use circular volume controls to build a static mix.
2. Inserts – I mix in every daw I own using it’s mixer. There should be a way to hide all of the tracks that are representing insert effects. There may already be, if so ignore this comment. I just can’t get over how much screen space is wasted in the mixer with insert channels.
I would also like to (since they’re already there) launch insert plugins from the channel in the mixer. If I have to look at the channels they might as well serve a purpose, letting me get directly to the plugins for tweaking?
Been using Podium for about 3 days and those few things are turning me away from it quickly.
Again… FANTASTIC user interface design… mostly.
