    Hi,

This has been present for a while, but I haven’t really felt it that bad to mention.

When scanning plugins, Podium must be fully loading – or going further than other hosts – because all of the UAD plugins that I don’t currently own ask if I want to run them in demo mode, which means I have to keep dismissing the dialog otherwise Podium will give up responding.

Also, any plugins that require hardware which isn’t plugged in, will potentially fail, show a warning, or ask for authorization.

Would it be possible to have an option for a ‘quick scan’ (in FLStudio terminology) or similar, which doesn’t actually ‘activate’ the plugin, but just gets the details ?

I only have this ‘quirk’ in Podium.

    Thanks.

In the future I may look into whether it’s possible to reduce some of the activity when scanning. Podium needs to load the plugins and initialize them, in order to retrieve info about whether it is an instrument and how many speaker channels, presets and parameters it supports, etc. This info is all needed in order to set up the plugin mappings in the database. Other hosts may only use the plugin filename, and then retrieve the info once it is loaded on a track.
