pazzapParticipantHi, just wondering if podium supports this for plugins that introduce latency, eg. sir. also on which audio routings the compensation is supported, i.e. sends and inserts and instruments. cheers

ZynewaveKeymasterHi pazzap,
The Podium hierarchic engine supports full delay compensation both for plugins and external devices. Podium does not have a traditional send/aux bus feature yet, but once it does, it will for sure support delay compensation as well. I expect to start work on the bus functionality within a month.

pazzapParticipantgood news. now the question is, does it support for dx effects also, or just vst?
also, if i use a plugin with heave delay, does podium delay the entire engine, i.e. any live vsti i try to play will also be delayed, or does it delay ONLY that track? cubase sx2 delays entire engine which means if you have an instance of sir ANYWHERE in a project, it makes it impossible to play ANY track vsti realtime.
also, how far away in time (worst scenario) is vst parameter automation?

Only VST.

It will delay only that track.

Not far, it’s already implemented . It was added in release 1.01. There still remains to be added support for recording knob movements within the editor, but you can use the Podium mixer to create automation tracks for the parameters.

ZynewaveKeymasterany plans to do this??
Not in the foreseeable future, sorry. What DX plugins are you using?

pazzapParticipantthere’s heaps of terrific dx only effects.
some examples:
-beat model pack at http://www.thelotron.com
-coyote dx plugins at http://www.coyotes.bc.ca
-some of the sofo (now sony) ones
-cakewalk fx series 1,2,3they are the ones i currently have, but i am sure there would be more. i find it strange to omit this. i understand the lack of DXI, as all dxi instruments bar one or two are available as VSTI also. it puts podium out of the running for me for now:(

I came to the conclusion that the time I would need to spend on adding DX support is better spent on improving other areas of Podium. Maybe some months down the road I will consider DX.

haikuParticipantHonestly, your time is better spent on other thing I think. Just about anything available in DX is available in VST, and if not, there’s an alternative. There’s also so much free VST stuff available these days to get people started like Kjearhaus Audio Classic series, and I don’t see as much of this stuff around in DX. VST has become the standard and beaten DX (especially now that even Cakewalk products have VST wrappers).
