Something that would allow for clips (midi or audio) to be triggered in a very similar way to Ableton Lives session view. Only three applications I know of can pull off that sort of realtime usage, Podium, Ableton Live and Project 5.
Podiums engine is so smooth it really could be used as a foundation for this sort of usage in Podium.
It does not have to be quite as elaborate as Ableton Lives implementation for instance. Something simple would be fine to start with. For example I noticed that Podium already has a grid interface in place when using the drum editor.
If this could be modified to allow for holders for clip data (audio or midi) that could be triggered in a similar way to Ableton Live that would really extend the power and flexibility of Podium as a host. Enabling it to match anything out there for variety of compositional features.
Many prefer a pattern + clip based approach which Podium does not offer yet as Live for instance does. Adding such a feature would provide a huge incentive for new users. It is one of the main reason why Live is so popular. I would definitley make use of this feature in Podium.
The popularity of Live suggests many others would as well. 😉
