Hi all, This is my first post here so I would like to start by saying how stoked I am that I was put on to this DAW. I grabbed the demo last night and instantly got a track running. I love the feel of this program and will be looking at purchasing. That is, if I can finish giving it a good demo.

I posted this at KVR first but yeah, theres a dedicated forum for it.

    Here it is:

I would love some help as I have really started to dig this product in such a short time.

Thanks. I will track down the text file.

um Problem seems to be solved guys. All starting.

I did a bunch of uninstalling.

I have a feeling it was synthmaster. as it hung around the area on the pop up window. I cant confirm this.

Maybe a test with synthmaker free is inorder.

I deleted some others but cant remember what thet were.

glad to hear all is better 🙂 If you install them one at a time you might be able to narrow it down to which one exactly is causing the problem…

Yeh, Its not working again (and again)

It will work the first time and then crash. I even removed my VST folder.

But the problem is, when I un/reinstall, there it still starts with my preferences. How do I get a clean slate to start with again?

I’m getting annoyed. I though I found an awesome programe which it is, but for the sake of one lil bug, I cant give it a proper trial.

    Lil help please.

    NEW INFO.

I Un/re installed and set the plugins folder to podium then deleted all of the other plugins (the list does not update when you apply ne location)

    Closed the program….
    Restarted……………….

Crash. Within a second of the Demo limitations window starting.

I’m not totally inept, but I cant even begin to figure this out.

    Hi Dayl,

But the problem is, when I un/reinstall, there it still starts with my preferences. How do I get a clean slate to start with again?

Use the “Load default setup” in the setup menu.

There have been a few reports recently on plugin crashes during scanning, so I think I’ll do something to improve the safety. The problem with the current plugin crash test is that it is only after the scanning is completed that it informs if there were any crashes. I’ll add a check after each plugin is scanned and if it crashed, the plugin will be added to a “PluginQuarantine.txt” file in the Podium application data folder, and a popup message will recommend you to restart Podium. The next time you do a scan, the offending plugins will be skipped, and eventually you should be able to complete the scan without crashes (and without having to uninstall plugins). I’ll implement this for the next version, and release a demo version of it. Hopefully sometime next week.

Sounds like a bug. Please send me a copy of your “Podium.ini” file, found in:

    C:Documents and Settings[user]Application DataZynewavePodium

That is, unless you have already used the “Load default setup” command.

Hi , thanks for your reply.

This may sound strange, but I cant find that file, or even the directory you advised me of.

the crash file had this directory where there is a file but I cant find this either.

    C:DOCUME~1DalLOCALS~1Tempf793_appcompat.txt

    Any help?

or further advice where I could find the file you need?

The application data folder may be hidden, depending on your file explorer settings. Do a file search for “Podium.ini” from within “C:Documents and Settings”.

    Thanks for your help Fritz.

This new issue is a pain. It is saying that it could not open ‘new project .pod’

and then goes on to crash like it did before.

Well I hope that the info I sent is of some help.

it is 1:00am here (New Zealand) and I have to get to work this morning.

I’ll drop in on the forum at work tomorrow.

Just a note, I’m running an EMU 0404 soundcard when it goes, its fantastic , when it dosn’t………

I dont know if that has anythinhg to do with it.

    thanks again.
